Majdi Naser, a talented photographer hailing from Saihat, a small city on the East Coast of Saudi Arabia, has been passionately immersed in the art of photography since his early years. Born on June 12, 1976, Majdi's journey into the captivating world of images began in 1987 with a Kodak Ektralite 450 camera. However, it was in 1990 when his father bestowed upon him his first SLR camera, a Minolta D8000i, that his photographic path truly took flight.
Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Majdi embarked on a self-learning adventure in an era when educational resources were scarce. Undeterred, he set up his very own home studio, relying on homemade tools like a small softbox and reflectors to perfect his skills in portrait photography. Alongside this, he passionately documented social events within his hometown, capturing cherished moments for posterity.
As life led him to college abroad in 1996, Majdi temporarily put his camera aside. However, the allure of photography never waned, and after an eleven-year hiatus, he returned to his beloved craft, only to discover a digital revolution had reshaped the field. Determined to adapt, Majdi embraced the challenge head-on, seeking knowledge through online photography schools and finding solace in a supportive community of like-minded individuals. In November 2013, fueled by a shared passion for the art, Majdi and his enthusiastic friends established the Gulf Photographers Club, known as GPC Club.
His dedication to continuous learning led Majdi to pursue professional photographers certifications from the esteemed New York Institute of Photography in 2017, enriching his understanding and expanding his artistic prowess. Today, Majdi holds prestigious positions within the photography realm, serving as the Director of Saudi Arabia and the Star Ratings Director for the Nature Division at the renowned Photographic Society of America (PSA). Additionally, he has been invited to serve as a judge for numerous local and international photographic exhibitions.
